About the banners

ABout the artists

Wedgwood resident artists worked together with Seattle Dept of Neighborhoods, the Wedgwood Community Council and the residents of Wedgwood  to create a welcoming message for our community.
The scope and purpose of this project was to create a sense of unity in our neighborhood, through art, that sends the message"Wedgwood welcomes all" . Our neighborhood has a history of red-lining ( intentional exclusion of some and not others) So we designed an art campaign that sends a message to every person who visits Wedgwood, lives in Wedgwood or works in Wedgwood, that they are welcome here.

Meet Jules. @jules.e.a

Jules is a self taught graphic designer and painter, with a bold and abstract style.

As an Asian American, Jules believes in giving a voice to diversity through art. Since art impacts daily life, it’s a way that BIPOC culture can be highlighted and celebrated. She teamed up with Think Big Wedgwood to design branded swag and finalizing neighborhood banners. Jules hopes to continue working with organizations that stand for inclusion of BIPOC community members.
