Social Housing is publicly owned, permanently affordable, creates cross-class communities and renter leadership. In countries such as Singapore, Austria, France, and Canada, large scale housing is owned by the public and controlled by the renters who live there - free from market forces and speculation.   By creating a community controlled Public Developer, to buy and build housing, Seattle can finally address the suffering, displacement, and inequity that defines our landscape, and create true housing justice and a city where all can live and thrive.
